This week on RTE’s News2Day children were asked to submit questions to the presenters rather than answer a question.

Junkyard Robots

Last month Mr Smyth’s Class learned about Recycling. This month in Art we are doing construction and have created very cool Junkyard Robots from recyclable materials we found around our homes. Thanks to all the mums and dads who helped the children collect materials. Anything we didn’t use went into our classroom’s recycle bins for plastic, paper and cardboard.

Check out our futuristic Robot Creatures below:

Tree Hunt in the Phoenix Park

Mr Smyth and 1st and 2nd class went for a nature walk in the Phoenix Park this week.  We looked at the animals around us- Swans, Water Hens, Ducks and Squirrels and examined the trees in the park- Maple, Oak and Horse Chestnut trees.  The children examined the colours of the leaves around them for their Art work this week and they discovered and collected leaves, branches and seeds from a number of trees.
