Parents help out in school fundraiser

A huge thank you to all the parents who helped out in making Dublin colours headbands for the All-Ireland Final this morning.

We are making headbands all week to show support for Dublin in the All-Ireland Final and also raise some funds for the school.

So we would love if you could drop in and give a hand.

Junior Infants First Week at School

Junior Infants have been settling in very well this week!  They have been getting used to their new classroom and making friends with each other.  6th Class have been very helpful by ‘buddying up’ with each child and showing the Junior Infants how to use all the toys and equipment in the playground.  On Thursday the class did a tour of the school to see where everything is, visiting the staff room, Ms. McLoone’s office and the computer room among others.  A busy year is ahead for the class!

Welcome back to everyone after a lovely, sunny Summer holiday. It’s back to school time, and we’re ready to make a great start to a new school year.

Today, we already started some group reading work. We worked in teams to put together a Recount Story about a World Cup Football Final.
We used excellent reading skills to figure out simple and some more difficult questions, showing that our brains haven’t forgotten everything over the holidays.

We’re hoping to have a great year ahead and make big improvements in lots of different things.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to school from all the staff in St Gabriel’s NS.

We hope you had a wonderful summer break.

A very warm welcome to our new Junior Infants!
