We’re into Week Three of Operation Transformation in Dublin 7. We have a good, strong, committed and fun group going with four mornings of activity – the gym, football, aerobics and walking/jogging.
Check out this video of some highlights so far, and watch out for it on the RTE show in the coming weeks.
So far the group has lost a whopping 4 stone 1 pound – but it’s not just about losing weight – it’s about having fun, getting to know other parents, being part of the community and making some time for yourself each day.
It’s not too late to join in!
St. Gabriel’s N.S. will hold our annual Art Exhibition on February 12th, 2015. Art from the Heart will showcase samples of the hard work and creativity of each and every pupil from Junior Infants to Sixth Class. Pieces of work from a number of the Visual Arts Curricular Strands will be on show. All members of the local and wider community are welcome to come and not only see the wonderful art work on display, but also to experience the atmosphere of child focused learning and inclusion that characterise St. Gabriel’s N.S.
Admission is free with doors opening from 10:30 am – 12:30pm and from 1:30pm – 3:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there!
Last Friday January 23rd saw some very welcome visitors come to our weekly Friday assembly. With Senior Infants performing a wonderful song, we had a huge turnout of parents who came along to enjoy the beautiful singing.
The children also had a warm welcome for Kevin O’Higgins, President of the Law Society, who came to present a cheque for €1000 on behalf of the Law Society of Ireland. This money was donated to the St. Gabriel’s N.S. Breakfast Club which runs daily and has become an integral part of the school day. The cheque was presented to Sinead O’Keeffe and Angela Carey who run the Breakfast Club with enormous warmth and efficiency. Orla Coyne and Donald O Meara of the school Board of Management and Shane McCarthy, Council of the Law Society of Ireland also attended for the presentation.
4th/5th Class spent some time today composing their own music.
