Celebration of Learning

The annual Celebration of Learning Event took place yesterday, in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.

This Celebration marks the participation of parents in courses and activities in St Gabriel’s and the other local schools.

There has been a great variety of classes and courses on offer this year, including English (beginners and FETAC Level 3), Cookery for Fun, Operation Transformation, aerobics, football, bootcamp, Reggaeton Dance class and Benefit 4 computer course.

A truly fantastic number of parents of children from St. Gabriel’s participated in these classes throughout the year and it was wonderful that so many of them could make it to collect their certificates and enjoy the celebrations together yesterday.

We hope that those who were involved in courses this year will continue next year, and that many more of you will become involved. Not only is it a great way to learn some new skills, and set aside some much needed personal time, but it’s an excellent social outlet and support for all parents.

Sincere congratulations and thanks to all the parents who have been involved in the school this year. Thanks also to all the tutors for the classes. Your contribution and participation is greatly appreciated.

Alice in Wonderland comes to St. Gabriel’s

Monday morning was very exciting this week for both the pupils and teachers of St. Gabriel’s when M & M Productions, an international theatre group, returned to put on another amazing show.  The production this year was Alice in Wonderland and this magical story was brought to life for all the children in a vivid and imaginative way.  Everyone really enjoyed the antics of The White Rabbit and The Mad Hatter and the only disappointment was when the show was over.  What a great way to start off the week!
