First Class took part in an after school Drumming Club. We had lots of fun performing different songs, including Dance Monkey, The Greatest Show and Baby Shark. We even took part in some cardio drumming, which involved us dancing and drumming together. We hope you enjoy the video below, showing our performance of Baby Shark.
Junior and Senior Infants recently went to the Phoenix Park to practise their athletics skills. While St. Gabriel’s NS will not have our whole school Sports Day this year, that did not stop the children from Ms. Leonard, Ms. Flahive and Mr. Whyte’s classes from trying out the Sack Race, Egg and Spoon and Sprint. As you can see they had a lot of fun!
Last week the Sunshine Class visited the zoo. The children were very excited as they had been learning about wild animals in class. They saw many of their favourite animals such as zebras, elephants and monkeys. They even met lots of friendly ducks and ducklings!
The children from 5th and 6th Class are very lucky this term as Ms. Delaney has been running a Mural Painting Club after school! The planning and prepping for painting was a great collaborative effort with lots of ideas and creativity flowing. As you can see they are really brightening up our courtyard with their beautiful painting.
This year due to Covid classes will not be able to go on any school tours which involve travelling on a bus or indoor activities.
However, St. Gabriel’s N.S. is so lucky to be located within walking distance of Dublin Zoo! All classes will be visiting the zoo this year for their school tours.
