Shared Reading for World Book Day

The school will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday the 2nd of March. As part of this, we are inviting a parent, guardian or family member to the school to participate in a shared-reading session in your child’s class. This is a wonderful opportunity to spend some reading time with your child in school.

Books are a fantastic way for you to spend quality time with your child. They are also essential in developing literacy, creativity and imagination. We promote this through our year-long weekly library for all classes, among other initiatives.

After some light refreshments in the hall, you will be invited to your child’s classroom where you can read a book, listen to a story or take part in some fun book-related activities. The hall will be open from 8.50am and we can bring you to your child’s class at 9.15am.

Hope to see you there!

One World Week World Cup Soccer 2023

We continue to celebrate diversity in St. Gabriel’s N.S. this week. A number of events took place within the school such as our famous One World Week World Cup soccer tournament, Jersey Design art competition and whole school song singing of WAKA WAKA.

Congratulations to Carter, Melissa, Hannah, Victor, Igor, Beau, Twyla, Yousef, Zach, Misiko and Ruhee on winning the Jersey Design art competition.

Well done to all who participated in our World Cup soccer tournament and thank you to Aughrim St. Sports Centre and the FAI’s very own Harry McCue for their support. This year’s winners were Romania, beating Somalia in a close contest 3-2. Third place went to the Philippines and Estonia. Some incredible skills were displayed by all teams.

Thank you to all the supporters from Junior Infants to Sixth class. The chants were AMAZING and really added to the electric atmosphere!
