End of Year Performance!

Congratulations to each and every one, for your exceptional participation in the end of year summer show. Your performances were truly outstanding, filled with delightful songs, captivating poetry recitations, and mesmerising dance routines.
The students from Junior Infants to Sixth class talent, dedication, and hard work were evident in every moment, and they should be immensely proud of their achievements.
A special congratulations to the after school club for their wonderful performance! Thank you to all of our wonderful pupils for their hard work and commitment over the past few weeks.
Everyone should be very proud of themselves.
PJ Day DePaul donation

Well done to Brooke, Zara and all who participated and contributed to the great success that was St Gabriel’s first PJ day fundraiser. All donations were given to the De Paul homeless charity, and our donations were generously topped up by Glanmore Foods to make up a grand total of €500! Community Liaison with DePaul, Sarah Kearney, visited St. Gabriel’s to speak to the school about the work they do and the importance difference this donation will make. Zara and Brooke also presented her with a cheque. Well done everyone!
5th/6th trip to Bank of Ireland, College Green
5th and 6th class had the privilege recently of being invited on a tour of one of Dublin’s most important historical buildings: Bank of Ireland, College Green, Dublin 2. After a short Luas trip and a quick look around Trinity College, we were met by our tour guide John at Bank of Ireland. He was very knowledgeable and funny and explained to the class all about the history of the building and local area; from pre-Viking settlement to modern times. He was very patient and answered all sorts of questions! The class learned a little bit about Irish politics and history and were lucky to be able to sit in the House of Lords of what was Ireland’s first Parliament. What a great trip!

6th class trips – Escape Rooms, Bowling and Cinema
6th class have been getting maximum enjoyment out of their last month in St Gabriel’s NS. They have been a wonderful group of students for so long, and so the school has decided to treat them to some special trips and activities. This month they had a great time in Escape Rooms Smithfield, The Lighthouse Cinema and Bowling at Blanchardstown Leisureplex.
The girls narrowly won out against the boys in Escape Rooms, but both teams solved lots of puzzles in their quest to escape through each locked door – well done! Many of 6th class had never been to one of Dublin’s coolest picture houses, The Lighthouse Cinema. Some didn’t even know it was there, so this was a lovely surprise for the group. The film, Spiderman: Across the Spiderverse, was excellent too! Ruhee showed herself to be a bit of a bowling ace and racked up 111 points at Leisureplex Blanchardstown. After this we went for lunch before getting a nice, relaxing bus home 😉
Happy days!
