Halloween Art

In the Sunshine room this week we have been doing Halloween art.
We used our fingerprints to make the outline of bats.
We used our hands to print spiders on paper plates and then threaded twine around to make spider webs.
We used toilet rolls cut up and dipped in paint to print more spiders.

Autumn art

In the Sunshine room we looked at autumn colours and made some autumn trees. We made the leaves using three different methods.
First we used dish brushes dipped in paint.
Next we used our own fingerprints.
Last of all we tore up yellow, red, orange and brown paper and glued them onto the trees.

Autumn Collage

In the Sunshine room we made autumn collages from the beautiful autumn leaves and twigs we collected in the park.

Paint and Colour in Senior Infants

In Senior Infants we looked at the paintings ‘Field of Poppies’ and ‘San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk’ by Claude Monet and ‘Starry Night over the Rhone’ by Vincent Van Gogh.
We discussed the colours used and the objects we could see.
We then painted our own versions of these paintings.

Easter Art in the Afterschools club

Image

The Afterschools clubs finished up their 4 week block this week.
3rd/4th classes had great fun learning tunes on the tin whistle and doing sports with Mr.Gallagher.
5th/6th class have been getting crafty the last few weeks with Ms. Leonard. They produced some lovely ribbon weaves. They finished off this week showing their creativity by producing a lovely range of Easter Art – from translucent coloured Easter Eggs, to origami rabbits, inventive Easter characters and mixed material Easter Eggs.

Look out for more clubs after the Easter break.
