We were delighted to be invited by Cabra Library to participate in Story Time again. Two lovely librarians visited our Senior Infants and read them a story in our own wonderful school library!
Junior and Senior Infants have started visiting the school library. It has been fantastic to have so many parents come in to help the children choose a book to take home.
While visiting the school library, the children are learning through the experience how a library works – how to borrow and return books and how to use their library cards.
The children are so enthusiastic about the visits to the library. They love talking about their books. Reading for fun is so important in helping the children develop a good attitude and love of reading, and there are so many lovely books to choose from in the school library.
Big thanks to everyone involved for making it such a success already.
In Senior Infants we looked at the paintings ‘Field of Poppies’ and ‘San Giorgio Maggiore at Dusk’ by Claude Monet and ‘Starry Night over the Rhone’ by Vincent Van Gogh.
We discussed the colours used and the objects we could see.
We then painted our own versions of these paintings.
Last week Senior Infants visited the Phoenix Park.
We walked around the duck pond, did some maths activities and played in the playground.
Thank you to our 5th clas buddies for walking with us to and from the park!
Senior Infants went to the School Museum today to see the exhibit on Communion dresses.
We had lots of fun trying to guess which teachers were in the photos!
