Hi everybody!
So we have made it to the final week of the school year and it is a year we will never forget.
This week is Poetry Week and Ms O Loughlin and Ms O Leary have prepared lots of fun poetry activities for this week to finish up the school year!
Art Week was a fantastic success and we have really enjoyed the wonderful effort that has been put in from you all at home! Congratulations to our Art Week competition winners! Check out the winners HERE!
We bid farewell to our fantastic 6th class as they prepare to move on to secondary school. Ms Sweetman and Ms Fahey have prepared a short tribute to them that will be posted here on the website. We will hope to have a Graduation Ceremony in the Autumn for these wonderful students as we felt an online ceremony would not do them justice.
Happy Birthday to Fabian, Roxanna, Oliwier, Debora, Bartosz and Luca!
Seesaw work will officially finish on Friday June 26th. We encourage you all to take a well deserved break!
From Thursday June 25th we will be distributing the children’s books/artwork, etc.
You will also be able to collect your child’s school report, a provisional school calendar for 2020/2021 and an information letter from myself in regard to next year.
A timetable for this will be posted on the school website and a text will be sent to each class group with your designated collection slot.
Collections will be from the yard where the children usually line up. We will be complying with public health advice in relation to sanitising and social distancing. We would ask where possible that just one adult from a household comes to the school and families with more than one child attending the school will be able to collect all their bundles on the day they attend.
If for any reason it is not possible for you to attend or if you do not feel comfortable coming to the school the documents can be posted to you no problem. Please email me, contact Mike or ring Vivienne/leave a message on the answerphone if you would prefer this option.
I will go into more detail in my information letter in regard to next year but just to say at this point we will not be accepting payments for School Supplies or selling tracksuits/crest/ties.
The school will be open in August and we will have a system in place for the purchase of the above which will comply with Public Health Advice.
It is hard to believe I am coming to the end of my second year as Principal. It has certainly been eventful! However, I could not ask for a better school community and I look forward to better times ahead! We have all pulled together to make our online learning experience thrive and we will all come out of this stronger.
Looking forward to seeing you in the coming days. In the meantime, stay safe, wash your hands and enjoy Summer 2020 in so far as you can.
Thinking of each and every one of you,
Suzanne Comerford
