St Gabriel’s NS are pleased to announce that we have received a grant of €4,500 from Version 1, as part of their Community First programme. Version 1 is an Irish technology company based in Dublin 1. The aim of their Community First programme is to improve employment opportunities by leveraging technology and skills, with St Gabriel’s NS  chosen to receive this ICT grant.

The grant will benefit pupils of Junior Infants, 1^st Class, 3^rd class and 4^th class, and the whole school intake in years to come. Based on a proposal put together by the school ICT team and management, Version 1 funded the purchase of 3 flat-screen interactive whiteboards for these classrooms. These were carefully sourced and professionally supplied and installed.

This is fantastic for St Gabriel’s NS, due to the impact it will have for our learners. We will benefit from this by:

Increased student engagement with learning objectives and lesson content across all subjects

• Increased student ICT proficiency and engagement, development of digital learning framework within the school
• Improved and more stable ICT infrastructure for staff; increased ability to promote creativity and attainment
• Developing user competence, training and ongoing user supports

We would like to thank Version 1 for choosing St Gabriel’s NS to receive this grant. We look forward to utilising Version 1’s grant and support to further improve employment opportunities for our school community.
