Miss Whyte’s Senior Infants and Miss O’Loughlin’s 5th and 6th class walked to the park together last Wednesday. Each Senior Infant had a buddy from 5th and 6th class to walk with and a big thank you goes to the buddies for being so helpful and responsible!
When we got to the park 5th and 6th class walked on to the Wellington Monument where they took part in some long distance running – part of the Athletics strand in PE.
Senior Infants spent time exploring some of the living things in the park (Science curriculum) and looking for natural features (Geography curriculum). We saw flowers, grass, trees, moss, people, dogs, swans, ducks, bees, flies and a grey squirrel. We gathered small items like tree bark, twigs, moss and leaves and used these in some artwork when we got back to school. We will put up pictures of this artwork soon!
A trip to the park isn’t complete without a few minutes in the wonderful playground there. After that we buddied up and headed back to school in time for lunch.
