During the month of November Ms. Leonard’s Junior Infant class were learning all about construction sites. We discussed the variety of people who would be involved in the work on a construction site, including architects, crane operators, brick-layers, carpenters, electricians and plumbers.
We looked at some of the tools and equipment that might be needed on a construction site as well as some of the vehicles we might see there. We noted that the clothes worn by people involved in the work on a construction site are specially designed to ensure safety.
Junior Infants had great fun designing and building their own structures during play. They had the chance to dress up as builders and use some of the tools that a builder uses. The boys and girls enjoyed designing and constructing houses, schools, apartments, hospitals etc out of old cardboard boxes! It was extra fun when the boxes were big enough to fit into!
