In October, our class dove into an exciting unit on fractions, turning everyday experiences into hands-on learning moments. One of the highlights of the month was our “Pizza Fraction Day,” where students explored fractions using real pizzas. We sliced them into halves, thirds, fourths and eighths, letting students see and “taste” how fractions represent equal parts of a whole.

Our 6th Class also ran a hugely successful bake sale in October, welcoming parents and every class in the school to enjoy a delicious selection of treats. The students showed fantastic teamwork as they baked, organised the stalls, served customers and managed money throughout the event.

Alongside the bake sale, we held two fun fundraising games, “Guess How Many Sweets in the Jar” and the “Name the Teddy” competition. These activities brought great excitement to the school, with pupils eagerly making their guesses and hoping to take home the prizes.

Thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of our 6th Class, we raised valuable funds for the school. The students demonstrated responsibility, leadership and community spirit, and we are incredibly proud of all the effort they put into making the event such a success.

On the 25th of November, we visited Collins Barracks to explore the exhibition on Continuity and Change. The children really enjoyed discovering how different aspects of daily life such as food, clothing and lifestyle have changed over time while some traditions have remained the same. They were fascinated by the historical objects on display and loved comparing life in the past to life today. It was a very engaging and educational trip that brought history to life for our students.
