Ms. O’Leary’s last day teaching in St. Gabriel’s was on the 19th June. We had a very special afternoon celebrating Ms. O’Leary and giving her a good send off.
A special assembly was held in her honour, where she was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a selection of gift vouchers which were bought with the very generous contributions from the parents in our school. She also received a large book filled with the beautiful notes and pictures that every child in the school made for her. The stage was decorated with posters for Ms. O’Leary with beautiful watercolour flowers painted by children in 5th and 6th class. Ms. O’Leary was truly surprised and overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the parents and the children in our school.
At home time, the children lined the corridors and clapped Ms. O’Leary through the school to wish her all the very best for her retirement and to thank her for everything she has done over the years. This was a moment that we are sure will live on in the memories of Ms. O’Leary, the children and the staff of St. Gabriel’s!
Ms. O’Leary, we will all miss you so much. Thank you for your dedication, care, and the positive impact you have made on so many lives. We wish you a long, happy, and healthy retirement!
