Today both the children and staff of St. Gabriel’s were privileged to see Mrs. McGarrity’s passion for poetry come to life at a communal recital in the hall. Classes from 1st to 6th read out their poems, which they had composed in a variety of styles and on a range of topics from animals to human rights. Some made us guffaw with laughter, while others brought a tear to our eyes. It was a wonderful experience which again displays the outstanding effort and commitment of our pupils and their teachers. We hope this is the beginning of a new tradition to keep poetry alive and flourishing in St. Gabriel’s.
