I hope you are all keeping well and staying safe.I hope you are taking care of your Watercress and Pea plants too! Below is a set of activities for the next 2 weeks.
Your child will just need a copybook and a pencil and rubber/eraser for these activities.
Your Homework Bingo sheet (see below- can be downloaded as a pdf) has 25 different activities. You can pick a couple of different activities each day and see if you can get all 25 completed in the next two weeks. The activities are designed to be completed without having to print off worksheets- just using your pencil, colours and copybook or by watching videos/ listening to stories online.

Please note: As always, for internet based activities please ensure your children are supervised while accessing the internet.

We were looking at doubles in Maths before school closed.

Activity 3: English
Look up your Word of the Day for today. Since we were learning about planting and growing with Watercress and Peas, before our school shut, our Word of the day theme for the next few weeks will be all about the “Farm”

Activity 7: English:
Choose your favourite animal, research them on the internet & create a factsheet– printing this one or writing into your copybook. Next week or so we will use our factsheet to write a Report on your chosen animal.
Activity 8: English:
D.E.A.R. Time. (Drop everything and Read Time) Chose a book you like- either sit and read yourself if you can or sit with an adult at home and read together.
Activity 9: Cross Curricular:
Starting on Monday 30th March, watch RTE Home School Programme at 11 O’Clock on RTE 2. If you miss the show on TV you will be able to find it on the RTE Player
Activity 10: English:
Each day practice his week’s Tongue Twister
- Week 1 Tongue Twister: “Black Bug’s Blood”
- Week 2 Tongue Twister: “Crisp crusts crackle and crunch”
Practice saying it and see how many times you can repeat it in 30 seconds- get someone to time you! Try beat your record from the previous day.
Activity 11: Maths:
Practice your Skip Counting in 2’s song by listening to the video and singing along.

Activity 13: SESE
Science: Water everyday your plants and measure the Watercress and Pea plants with a ruler your parents and record size on worksheet that I sent home with you when school closed.
Activity 14: SESE
Science: Read the Science worksheet “Do Plants grow in straight lines?” and set up your science experiment
Activity 15: English:
Write a Diary entry once this week in your copy. Use Recount Writing prompt sheet as a guide to writing a recount diary entry.
Activity 16: English:
Describe Today’s weather in your copy and draw a picture with it
Activity 17: Maths
Check out the Splat Hundred Square on the school website and make patterns skip counting in 2’s and 4’s.

Practicing your reading strategy of Prediction- From listening to chapter 1 of “Even Stevens” by Michael Rosen write or draw in your copy what you think will happen in this story.
Activity 20: Irish/ Art
Draw and colour a picture of yourself in your copy and label your “Eadai” using the prompt sheet “Eadai”
Activity 21: English
After listening to each chapter of “Even Stevens” by Michael Rosen, grab your copy and write or draw what happened in the chapter you just listened to.
Activity 22: Art
Go to I Am Artist website and watch the first video on Fabric and Fibre which is all about weaving http://www.iamanartist.ie/fabric-fibre/.
We will try some weaving activities in the coming weeks.
Activity 23: Art
Grab some lego or blocks at home and build something from the 30 day challenge sheet attached.
