Hello to everyone! I’m sure you are all missing school as much as your friends and teachers are missing you. Even though we are in our own homes, sometimes we can all find it hard to relax so it’s really important that we do some things to help us feel better. Bees hum all day as they fly around visiting flowers and making honey. Using your Bumblebee Breath, think of things that make you happy! Wherever you are – playing or resting – breathe in fully and as you breathe out close your lips to hum like a bee. Make sure your face and lips are soft so you can feel your lips tickle. Repeat for as long as you like!

Here are some links that I’ve brought together for you to enjoy. Enjoy the story of the Arnie the Doughnut. He was covered in chocolate and sprinkles. Design your own doughnut and draw it. I will add a new story link every time I update my page.
Reading and Writing Activities
Try to do at least one of these activities every day to keep up your fantastic reading skills!
- Free writing: write about whatever you like! Don’t worry too much about spellings, this is about getting your ideas down on paper. (If you find yourself stuck some good starters are: my favourite food is ….., last night I dreamed that ……., once upon a time …….., my best day ever was ……..)
- Read a book you like. You might have some PM readers that you have read before in school and at home. Read again for someone in your house. Don’t forget to use your ‘Reading Voice.’ Could you read it in different voices?
- New reading: you may have some PM books that you have not read before. Before you start to read the words, look through the book so you can get an idea of the story from the pictures. There might be some words that you are not sure of so ask your brother/sister or Mum/Dad/Granny/Grandad.
- Use playdough to form different letters. Can you make the letters of your name in playdough?
- Write a sentence on a strip of paper (you can copy a sentence from one of your books if you like). Cut the sentence up, mix up the words and try to put them back in the correct order again.
- Tell someone in your family about a book you have read before. Don’t forget to mention the main characters in the story. Answer any questions your family might have about the book.
Yoga
If we practise a little bit of yoga every day we all can feel better not only in our bodies but also in our minds!
The Mountain pose makes us feel tall and strong. You can keep your hands by your side or press your palms together at your chest. Mountains can go high into the sky above and deep into the earth below. Is it sunny on top of your mountain or is there snow? Don’t forget to breathe!
Most of us know the Down Dog. With this pose you can start off on all fours like a dog and then lift up and stretch to make a triangle with your body. What kind of dog are you? What is your bark like? Can you wag your tail?
On the link above you will find some Pokemon Yoga to enjoy.
