4th Class measure up to Maths challenge

This week 4th Class were making their own angle measuring devices. They discussed different rotations and size of angles, acute, obtuse, straight, reflex and right angles. They displayed the different angles on their devices and measured angles in their Maths books.

5th Class Science

In science this week, 5th Class were learning about forces and air resistance. They worked on creating and testing parachutes to see if the size of the parachute had an affect on the air resistance. They calculated the area of the parachutes, the average drop speeds and they learned about scientific report writing and experimental variables

Women in Space- STEM poster competition 2025

Congratulations to the three pupils from 4th and 5th Class who were winners in the TUD “Women in Space” STEM poster competition. The children created posters about famous women involved in space exploration. One of the pupils won overall winner across all the schools who entered. We are extremely proud of the children’s efforts. Well done!

Spooktacular Musical Compositions in 4th Class

Using the stimulus of a spooky Halloween image from their class Music book, the children in 4th Class put together some lovely compositions in class using chosen percussion instruments and their voices.

St Gabriel’s Radio

The boys and girls of 6th Class recorded their first St Gabriel’s Radio broadcast today. Lots of children from the rest of the school got a chance to hear themselves describing what they’ve been learning about and we have some #Mathsweek jokes too. Have a listen!
