The annual Celebration of Learning Event took place yesterday, in the Lighthouse Cinema in Smithfield.
This Celebration marks the participation of parents in courses and activities in St Gabriel’s and the other local schools.
There has been a great variety of classes and courses on offer this year, including English (beginners and FETAC Level 3), Cookery for Fun, Operation Transformation, aerobics, football, bootcamp, Reggaeton Dance class and Benefit 4 computer course.
A truly fantastic number of parents of children from St. Gabriel’s participated in these classes throughout the year and it was wonderful that so many of them could make it to collect their certificates and enjoy the celebrations together yesterday.
We hope that those who were involved in courses this year will continue next year, and that many more of you will become involved. Not only is it a great way to learn some new skills, and set aside some much needed personal time, but it’s an excellent social outlet and support for all parents.
Sincere congratulations and thanks to all the parents who have been involved in the school this year. Thanks also to all the tutors for the classes. Your contribution and participation is greatly appreciated.

Well done to the children in 2nd Class that made their First Holy Communion on Saturday May 9th. They had worked very hard to prepare for this special day and were helped and supported by all their classmates. Our wonderful choir on the day was made up from children from 2nd to 6th Class of all different religions and cultures and they certainly made the experience even more enjoyable!
