5th class undertook a rockin’ study this week – not rock’n'roll, nor Rockin’ around the Christmas tree, not Chris Rock or The Rock.
We collected and examined different rocks and did some research to find out what types of rocks the were.
We learned that there are 3 main different types of rocks – igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. We learned how each is formed and we found out which of our rocks belonged to which group. It was a very interesting project and we really enjoyed using the encyclopedia to figure it all out.
The School Christmas Carol Service took place today in the church. Thanks to all the parents who came along to watch. We hope you enjoyed the beautiful singing and reading by the children. Happy Christmas to you all!

Junior Infants were hard at work this week, just like Santa’s little elves! In December all the children in St. Gabriel’s explore Print as our strand in Art, so in our class we decided to print our own wrapping paper.
