Artefact Artwork

Mr Linnane’s 5th and 6th class are continuing work on their 1916 project this week.

The class is working in groups, each on one artefact from the 1916 Easter Rising. They are using images of the artefacts to tell a story – stories set in Easter Week. The artefacts the children have chosen include a charred green flag, a melted bottle, James Connolly’s shirt, a dummy rifle, a volunteer’s uniform, a bottle of iodine and a hat.

A picture really does paint a thousand words, and no doubt these pictures will tell interesting stories of what happened in Dublin 100 years ago.
