Mind Your Mind Art Competition

Recently, we held an art competition with the theme “Mind Your Mind”. There were some fantastic entries, and it was wonderful to see children working together on posters too.

All posters were displayed at the Children and Youth Action Group’s Midterm break event “Young Minds” in the Complex Youth Theatre. At “Young Minds”, children explored the theme “Mind Your Mind” through dance, music, art and drama over two days.

Congratulations to everyone who took the time to create a poster, and a very special “WELL DONE” to our three winners.

Meeting the author Dave Rudden

Today, 4th and 5th Class met exciting new Irish author Dave Rudden in Phibsboro Library. The children are reading his book “Knights of the Borrowed Dark” as part of the Citywide Reading Campaign. Dave gave them a short workshop and read from his book. The class had a question and answer session and got a lovely autograph from Dave.

Children who are reading the book are invited to enter a cool competition by checking out: https://daverudden.com/

A huge thank you from St Gabriel’s NS to Mary and the staff of Phibsboro Library for having us today.

Buddy Reading Fun

The children from Junior Infants and 5th/6th Class have started another great activity together this term.  Junior Infants picked out some books that they enjoy and asked their ‘Buddies’ in Ms. Fahey’s room to read to them.

Everyone really enjoyed our reading time and we’re all looking forward to next week!
