This month 4th class have been learning about the environmental impact of decline in bee populations. In Art they made bee-utiful bee creations and in English, they planned and wrote a persuasive piece in poster form to inform and inspire others to “Save the Bees”.
This week the children in 4th Class have been exploring fractions and today they were looking at Improper Fractions. Using a game from Maths My Way book, the children played a game which helped them look at improper fractions using quarters (1/4).
This week, Mr Smyth’s 4th Class have been investigating Electricity and Simple Circuits.
Using bulbs, wire, bulb holders and a battery, they worked in pairs to try create a simple circuit and make the bulb light.
After that, they worked in teams with Snap Circuit kits to make circuits with switches, lights and motors.

There is HUGE excitement as the children are busy rehearsing for our Christmas show “A Hint of Snow White”, which will be on stage in mid-December. Tickets are going on sale today so please see Aladdin Connect for epayments or you can drop into Vivienne in the school office.
Yesterday, the children in 4th Class went on a guided tour on The Way We Wore exhibition in Collins Barracks Museum. They learned about clothes and how they have changed and how they have stayed the same over the past 300 years.
This week 4th Class were making their own angle measuring devices. They discussed different rotations and size of angles, acute, obtuse, straight, reflex and right angles. They displayed the different angles on their devices and measured angles in their Maths books.
Today, the children had a wonderful Halloween Parade– where they got to show off their Halloween costumes. They sang songs, recited poetry and had a spooky school disco.
