Well done to all the children who took part in Sports Day 2013.  Win or lose, the children had a really enjoyable day with lots of different activities.  Here are some of the race winners from 1st to 6th Class.

Today the children and staff of St. Gabriel’s were very lucky that the theatre came to us in the school!  The cast of M & M Productions put on a wonderful show and really brought Charles Dickens’ story ‘Oliver Twist’ to life.

All the children really enjoyed the show, especially when The Artful Dodger tried to pick one of the teachers pockets!  Well done to two of our 3rd Class pupils who became pickpockets for the performance as well.

A huge congratulations to some of the children from 2nd Class who celebrated their First Holy Communion on Saturday 11th of May.  The children enjoyed a lovely ceremony with their family and friends around them.  Well done to the other children from 2nd Class and the other classes in the school who were able to support their friends on the day by singing in the school choir.  It was agreed by all that they sounded beautiful!

Junior Infants enjoyed a lovely walk to the Phoenix Park on Friday.  In Geography, we had been investigating and learning about different places where children play.  We looked at the play area in the park on Google Earth on our Interactive Whiteboard in class and luckily our ‘buddies’ in 6th Class came along to help us explore the real thing!

Well done to all the children who were presented with an award for their full attendance in the last term.  Many of these children have worked hard to improve their overall attendance and we hope that in the last term everyone can make an extra special effort to be at school every day.  Well done to all!

Well done to the children of 6th Class who celebrated their Confirmation day on March 14th.  The children had a wonderful day with the support of their families and the other children from the class who came along to see their friends.
