Today 3rd Class attended a workshop in Collins Barracks on the life and work of William Morris, a key figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. The pupils learned about Morris’s love of nature and design and how his legacy continues to inspire artists today.

Led by visual artist Mirjam Keune, the “Art of Flowers: Drawing & Collage with Willaim Morris” workshop included:

• A short, child-friendly introduction to William Morris,
• Observational drawing of real flowers and
• A hands-on flower collage activity inspired by Morris’s iconic patterns.

Today, 3rd class and a number of other classes paid a visit to Technological University Dublin as part of Space Week. They took part in a workshop with the Armagh Planetarium, learning all about our solar system, planets, stars and much much more. In addition, the class tuned into the ARISS radio link between pupils from various primary schools and Japansese astronaut Takaya Ornishi on board the International Space Station.

Today, 3rd Class paid a visit to our school library to use their new school library cards. A huge thank you to Ms Delaney and the parents who helped for the hard work they did in setting up the system. Now all parents can see the books their children have out on loan in their Aladdin Connect app.

The rain held off and the children in 3rd Class had a wonderful day out in Blackhall Place for our Sports Day 2025. They enjoyed sprint races, sack races, tug of war, yoga, football and much more! Check out some photos below.

A huge thanks to Aibhínn Conway, Head of Community at Bohemian Football Club, for a wonderful guided tour of Dalymount Park today. The children had a wonderful time with many wearing their Bohemians FC jerseys.

Today Mr Smyth’s 3rd Class took part in super Easter Maths Quiz organised by Education Support Centres in a number of counties. It saw hundreds of pupils across Ireland take part via zoom. The quiz posed some very interesting Easter themed Maths problems and riddles to solve and the children had fun working out the problems.
