Inspired by their study of Greek Mythology story “Theseus and the Minotaur” and by the beautiful picture book “Mary and Frankenstein” by Linda Bailey, accompanying their Over the Moon English reader, the children in 4th class created their own imaginative monster creations in clay today. Check out the photos below. Next week when they are dry they will add a splash of colour to the figures.

Today, the school welcomed Graham, a coach from Leinster Rugby, who began the first of four sessions of tag rugby with the children from 4th, 5th and 6th Class.
The sessions were fun and engaging and the children really enjoyed them.
A huge thanks to Graham and Leinster Rugby for this wonderful opportunity for the children to try out this sport.
Today, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Classes went to Glasnevin Cemetery and enjoyed a guided tour learning about key figures in Irish Independence, such as Michael Collins, James Larkin and Daniel O’Connell.

Today, the children in 4th class learnt about Ecosystems in their Technological University Dublin “Try Five” workshop in class.
Check out the pictures below where they were building their very own terrarium. Over the next few months they will record their observations in their Try Five manuals.
This week in 4th Class, the children were testing their powers of estimation in Length. Using tasks from their Maths My Way book, they worked on estimated drawing various lengths in mm and cm and then measuring them. Today, they had to estimate and mark a 10m length and then measure using a trundle wheel.
The theme this year is “Christmas is for Sharing”.
