Seachtain na Gaeilge

This week we’re celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge at St. Gabriel’s N.S. There are a variety of fun and educational activities are planned throughout the week! These activities include:

  • Tráth na gceist (Quiz)
  • Ceol agus Cultúr sa Leabharlann (Music and Culture in the Library)
  • Leabhair as Gaeilge (Irish Books)
  • Tionóil sa Halla (Assembly in the Hall)

The week will conclude with our annual Lá Glas (Green Day) on Friday.

This will be a non-uniform day, where students are invited to come to school wearing green/ green accessories to celebrate if they wish.

We encourage all students to participate and enjoy these wonderful experiences.

A Busy Week in 2nd Class!

Wow, what a busy week we’ve just had!

A special thank you to Ms Leonard and Mrs Condron for all the activities they organised during World Book Week!

Thank you also to Ms O Dowd, Ms Fitzpatrick, Aoife, Vicky, Sharon and Emma and all the children for welcoming us into their classrooms for a visit. We really enjoyed it and learned lots!

Huge Excitement in 3rd Class for World Book Day

The pupils in Mr Smyth’s 3rd Class got their World Book Day books today and headed off to Cabra Library for an event. The class LOVE to read and are flying through their second novel of the year, “Bumpfizzle – The Best on Planet Earth”. They are also having lots of fun doing their novel study activities.

Every week, the class visit our school library to take out new books for DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) time in class.

World Book Day in St Gabriel’s NS

There is lots fun activities happening today in our school for World Book Day 2025.

There are visits to Cabra Library, our school library, book trails, distribution of the World Book Day books, storytime, author events and much more.
