Laptop Donation

Today students and staff from the school received a kind donation of a number of refurbished laptops from WorkDay, through our partnership with Engagement and Outreach in Technological University Dublin, Grangegorman.

The devices will be a great addition to our school and a great resource for pupils to use in class.

A huge thanks to Riona in Technological University Dublin and to the staff in Workday.

Senior Infants 2024

Our play theme this month in Senior Infants is ‘Visiting the Hairdressers’. We are having so much fun learning new vocabulary through play.
As part of our maths lessons, we worked in groups to sort 3D shapes and played memory games to name but a few tasks.

Our ‘buddies’ gave us tips on how to play nicely with toys during yard time. In return, we showed them a folk dance called ‘Skip to my Lou’.

This month we explored clay and in the process created imaginative pieces of work!

Senior Infants constructed dragon puppets in preparation for the Chinese New Year which is on February 10th.

All the boys and girls in Senior Infants are delighted to begin dancing with Bernie again.

Fire Safety Week 2023

We will all be learning about fire safety this week in St. Gabriel’s N.S. We hope to make sure that we all know how to be careful around fire and that we know what to do if there ever was a fire in school or at home. We’ll do this by practising our fire drill in school and we hope you will chat about what to do in the case of a fire at home.

We will remind ourselves and practice what to do if our clothes or Halloween costumes catch fire. STOP DROP ROLL!

Many classes will learn how Dublin Fire Brigade are always there to help us. We will look at the work they do, the uniforms they wear and the equipment they need to do their jobs. This year children can help spread awareness of fire safety by entering Dublin Fire Brigade’s monthly colouring / drawing competition.
