St. Gabriel’s local history corner

Enjoy this little piece of St. Gabriel’s and Stoneybatter history which details the schools early involvement and successes in Dublin GAA. Some wonderful characters and places are referenced in here, which provides a wonderful insight into how our school and local area was nearly 100 years ago.

You can continue the local association with GAA with your children at St. Brendan’s GAA club in Grangegorman. You can contact them for training times here or  secretary.stbrendans.dublin@gaa.ie and details of their summer camps are here.

Family Fun Day for Stoneybatter Festival 2022!

You are all cordially invited to St. Gabriel’s NS on Saturday 18th of June to join in all the fun and games!  From 12 – 2pm we will be playing carnival games, building, creating, face painting and much more as part of the Stoneybatter Festival 2022.  Everyone is welcome to come along to Cowper Street for the festivities.

Congratulations to our school debaters

Well done to pupils from our debating team who beat Presentation Primary, George’s Hill NS, Dublin 7 in the Law Society, Blackhall Place on Tuesday 31st May.

The motion was “Animals should never be kept in Zoos” and St Gabriel’s opposed the motion. It was a tough and closely-run debate and St Gabriel’s won in the end on a split decision from the independent judges.

Our team will now face St Paul’s Primary NS, Brunswick St., in the final on Monday 13th June.

Well done to all involved!
