Creative writers busy at work in 3rd Class!

Today, Mr Smyth’s 3rd Class took out the student laptops and started to type some of their great writing work. They started to learn how to create paragraphs (which they were learning about in Jolly Grammar recently) in a word document, to spell check and to edit their own work, which they have been writing in their writing workbooks. They are working on their recount and narrative stories and soon will start on their explanation writing! We’re very proud of our budding authors! Well done 3rd Class!

Cute Visitor in 2nd Class!

This week we had some special visitors in 2nd Class! Mother Heather and Baby Lucy visited us because we are learning about how to care for babies. We had such a nice time asking lots of questions and remembering stories of when we were babies! Thank you Lucy and Heather 🙂

Artist Visit to Mr Smyth’s 3rd Class

Today, Andy, a local artist, who works with fabric and fibre visited the class. She showed the children some of her work using a loom. She taught the children how to create their very own cardboard loom for weaving which they will begin next week.

The children also created their own macrame keychain decoration in their favourite colour using macrame cord and by weaving a twisted macrame pattern.
